It is National Tree Week!

And at TJ Books, 150 mangrove trees have been planted in our name by the Eden Restoration Project following our recent investment in metal water bottles for all of our employees.

As a business we are constantly looking for ways to be more environmentally conscious across our operation, and with this in mind we have issued all our staff with metal drinks bottles in order to eliminate consumption of single-use disposable cups and bottles on our site. Happily, we also found a supplier that is committed to the same sustainability goals as we are, and for each bottle purchased they have planted a mangrove tree through the Eden Restoration Project.

Eden is a US non-profit that works with underprivileged local communities around the world to regrow forests and rebuild healthy ecosystems. Eden uses an “employ to plant” methodology to ensure forests are protected over time, and that local workers are fairly reimbursed. They have planted over 1 billion trees globally.

Want to do your own part in being more environmentally conscious for National Tree Week? Plant your own tree with World Land Trust or the National Trust for as little as £5.
